Services

Deborah Marr Interiors offers a wide variety of services, including:

INITIAL CONSULTATION: Deborah Marr Interiors provides a free one-hour consulting session.  Regarding residential interior design clients typically know their likes and dislikes when it comes to colors and furniture styles, but may not know the “right” way to put their design concepts together.  During the initial consultation, Debbie listens to her clients describe their goals in the proposed project, then she formulates a plan to accomplish these goals within their budget.  During this phase, Debbie also obtains an understanding of the constraints – financial or otherwise – that might affect the project.

FURNITURE SELECTION: Furniture selection is based on each client’s needs.  The designer selects and recommends colors, fabrics, wall coverings and wood samples to present to the client for approval. Floor coverings such as carpet, tile, hardwood and other materials are also chosen during this phase.

SPACE PLANNING: This critical part of the design process is when the designer makes the space practical, workable and aesthetically pleasing.  The designer assesses the relationship between spaces – For instance, is the kitchen and breakfast area receive the best morning sunlight?

PLAN DESIGN: The designer works with the client and the client’s architect to develop the most functional floor plan possible.  The final floor plan is the most important document for the designer because it provides a basis from which to accomplish the client’s design solutions.

BUDGET: During the initial consultation, the designer and client discuss the budget for the project.  The designer discusses ways to stretch the budget by purchasing materials and furniture in cost effective ways.  Deborah Marr Interiors establishes practical costs, estimates and time schedules for each client.

PURCHASING: With access to countless sources of interior furnishings that are available to Deborah Marr Interiors, the designer helps clients purchase the most for their money and the best quality furniture, fixtures, wall and floor coverings that their budget allows.

NEW HOME: The designer assists the client with creating a functional floor plan and an aesthically pleasing exterior elevation keeping the lot, size and topography in mind, along with the surrounding neighborhood’s environment and architecture. The designer helps the client determine the best interior style to pursue, along with recommending a certain “color palate” for the different core areas of the residence.  An inventory is taken of existing furniture that the client hopes to reuse.  A timeline is put together to help everyone understand how the various stages of the design process interact with the proposed completion date of the home.  A budget is discussed and established so the designer knows up front what the financial guidelines are for the project.
